Your cleaning company uses Housecall Pro or Jobber: how that fits with your booking calendar

If you hire a cleaning company rather than one cleaner, it may run on software such as Housecall Pro or Jobber, which are built for running a service business. Your bookings live in your own calendar. This guide shows how the two fit together, and how little you have to do on your side.^1,2

The short answer. Housecall Pro and Jobber run the cleaning company: its schedule, its team and its payments. TurnMyRental runs your side of each turnover. We read your booking calendar, text the person who takes your jobs about each turnover, and text you when they accept. On the day, whoever cleans opens our checklist link, and you get a text when they start and when they finish. We do not connect to either one, and we do not need to: the company keeps its software, and you keep your calendar.^1,3,4

Your booking calendar	We read iCal links from Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com and other sites, up to 5 per property, or connect to OwnerRez directly. We never write to your calendar.	Its Google Calendar link only sends jobs out to Google Calendar, and its help center returned no articles for "ical".^9,10	Its calendar sync only sends jobs out of Jobber, and its Google Calendar import is a one-time copy, not a sync.^11,12
How the cleaner hears about a job	They get a text with the date, the hours and the pay if you set it. They reply YES or NO, and if they say no or do not answer, the job passes to your backup cleaners in order.	The team member gets a push notification in its app when a job is assigned to them.¹³	The team member gets an email about new jobs, and a push in its app at 6 AM with the day's work.^14,15
What the cleaner needs	They need only a phone that gets texts. The checklist opens in their phone's browser, with no app, account or password.	Field techs sign in only through the Housecall Pro mobile app.¹⁶	Each team member needs an email address to log in, and works from the Jobber app on iOS or Android.^17,18
What you see as the host	We text you when your cleaner accepts, arrives and finishes, and warn you when a turnover is at risk, has not started or has no cleaner, if you add your mobile number.	As the company's customer, you can be invited to its Customer Portal to see appointments and pay invoices, and you can get texts when the cleaner is on the way and when the job is finished.^19,20	As the company's client, you get a client hub with your past visits and the next five, and you can get its texts and emails for reminders, arrival updates and completion.^5,21

Why your bookings do not reach their schedule by themselves

Housecall Pro's Google Calendar link only sends jobs out, and we found nothing in its help center or on its integrations page that imports bookings from Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com.^9,10,22

Jobber's help center says its calendar sync is one way, from Jobber into your calendar app, and that its Google Calendar import is not a sync. We found nothing on Jobber's own pages about importing Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com or iCal calendars, and its own article on Airbnb cleaning work suggests that the cleaning company offer online booking to busy Airbnb hosts.^11,12,23

So unless something sits in between, a person copies each checkout into the company's schedule, and fixes it when a guest changes dates or cancels.

For Jobber, a separate app called CleanSync says on its own site that it reads the calendar link from Airbnb or Vrbo and creates a Jobber cleaning job for each checkout, and that it is free during early access. We have not tried it.²⁴

How TurnMyRental fits beside them

For each turnover, they get a text with the date, the hours and the pay if you set it, and reply YES or NO. They add the job to their own schedule the same way they add any other client's job.
If they say no or do not answer, we ask your backup cleaner, if you have one. On the day, the person you added gets the checklist link. If someone else from the company does the clean, the person you added forwards them the link. You get a text when the cleaner taps Start cleaning and when they mark the property ready, and if nobody starts in time, we text you that the clean has not started.

We do not connect to the company's software, so its schedule, team, invoices and payments stay as they are, and you pay the company as you do now.

If you run the cleaning company

Keep your business software. Housecall Pro and Jobber are built for running your business, with your team's schedule, checklists and card payments from your customers. We do no invoicing and take no payments.^1,4,25,26
Your rental clients can send you their turnovers by text. A host who uses TurnMyRental adds you, or whoever takes their jobs, as their cleaner. You get each turnover by text with its date and hours, reply YES or NO, and add it to your own schedule. On the day you get the checklist link, and you can forward it to whoever does the clean.
You want the bookings inside Jobber itself. CleanSync, a separate app, says on its own site that it creates a Jobber cleaning job for each checkout from an Airbnb or Vrbo calendar link, and closes the job when the guest cancels.²⁴
